We were very proud and excited to be invited to the opening ceremony of Aldi’s new state-of-the-art regional distribution centre in Bolton on Friday 1st April.
The new hub replaces Aldi’s existing distribution centre in Middleton and has seen 550 employees make the move across to Bolton. Aldi are also now looking to hire 100 new members of staff to work within the logistics side of its business in the coming months.

As part of Aldi’s continuing growth strategy, the Bolton distribution centre features a whole floor dedicated to the Academy, Aldi’s recruitment and training department. Tony Brookes, Vacancy Filler’s Sales Director said “We are coming up to the second anniversary of our contract with Aldi and were flattered to be invited by the Academy to join the opening ceremony.”
The new centre was officially opened by Team GB triathlete Vicky Holland who was joined by guests including Bolton Council leader Cliff Morris and the Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Carole Swarbrick on an official tour of the expansive site. During the tour of the extensive facilities, the delegates were shown a demonstration of the Vacancy Filler Applicant Tracking System.
Daniel Collins Vacancy Filler’s UX/UI designer and Aldi’s project manager was also in attendance said “It’s immensely satisfying to see our system process such high volumes of applicants and to be held in such high regard by the Academy. Clearly it’s making a significant difference to their business.”
