Smart Fleet Solutions provides inspection and refurbishment for cars at the end of their lease period in preparation for resale. They currently employ over 400 members of staff throughout a number of UK locations including Staffordshire, West Lothian, Nottinghamshire and Wiltshire. We spoke to Simon Osbourne, Recruitment Manager, at Smart Fleet who is in charge of recruitment training. We discussed the problems the company had prior to Vacancy Filler and how recruitment software has improved their process.

Currently, Smart Fleet post around 10 job adverts a month but these adverts often pull in multiple hires.

Ashton 6th Form College is located in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester and has around 2000 students.  In 2016, the college was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted and achieved a 99% pass rate for A Levels.

The 6th form college has a small, core HR team that overseas recruitment; we spoke to Dawn Parrott, one of the main users of the system about her experience with Vacancy Filler. The 6th form college currently employs around 240 members of staff and hire approximately 20-30 times a year.

Formed in 1982, Sabre Insurance has more than 130 employees and is based in Surrey; they are a popular insurer that sells car insurance primarily through brokers but also directly to the public. Sabre Insurance is one of the most successful insurers in the UK, with a great reputation for providing brokers and customers with outstanding customer service.

The Vacancy Filler Solution

Having previously built strong relationships with recruitment agencies, Wendy Bamping, Head of HR from Sabre Insurance, worked at an agreed rate of 12-15% of the basic salary for the, on average, 20 vacancies a year that they recruited for.

Although they advertised on their website, working with agencies was a regular method of recruiting for them as Sabre were often searching for particularly hard to fill roles, and these required specialist help in order to fill.
