Vacancy Filler's hairy tale comes to an end

The Vacancy Filler employees have completed a long month of cultivating their nose neighbours for Movember. A hair raising £453.75 (incl gift aid) has been donated by admiring onlookers and embarrassed spouses alike.

The face of the charity is obviously a lot of fun but the cause behind it is serious. With men ‘s life expectancy being on average 6 years less than women’s, Movember looks to help combat prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. In 2014, £11.7 million was raised by the UK and £55.6 was donated worldwide; so we’re looking forward to seeing how our contribution affects the figure for 2015.

Movember’s hairy tale began in 2003 when friends: Travis Garone and Luke Slattery met up for a beer in Melbourne, Australia. They coupled a wish to give to a cause that was close to them with their appreciation to the out-of-fashion lip luggage. A decade later and the charity is one of the biggest organisations in the world with over 20 countries participating in the effort.

We appreciate aeveryones donations, but remember you may still donate even though we have now come face to face with the razor.
